Neil Patrick Harris is and has always been a proud poppa to his now 2-year old twin boys. But that doesn't mean it's always been easy for the new father. On "Oprah's Next Chapter" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on OWN), the actor opened up about the struggles he had in bonding emotionally with his boys during the first months of their lives.
When they?re so little and they?re just crying," he admitted. "I just didn?t -- I don?t know what?s wrong." Harris even talked to a therapist about his struggles in connecting with them. Meanwhile, he focused on being a good provider for them financially.
But it was the emotional connection he needed to make, and finally he was able to overcome his earlier inhibitions and bond with the boys. It was clear to see that he adored the children, and the bond between them was evident even during the episode, as was the love between Harris and his fiance David Burtka.
The pair even took to Twitter to talk about their experience with Oprah Winfrey, commenting on how easy it was to open up to here. She didn't become the queen of daytime by being hard to talk to, that's for sure!
